New Year Recipe Resolution

Hi my name is Nic, and I’m a cookbookaholic. Many moons ago I would rather starve than eat anything remotely exotic. These days I try and go for things on a menu that I haven’t tasted and find rather intriguing. My journey started January 1st when I made it my New Years resolution to cook at least one recipe from my ever-growing cookbook population. As of this morning, my recipe resolution tally stand at one. I know what you’re thinking – yes, yes, it’s July. Go easy on me; I’ve been working my way up to it. It also makes it quite a hard resolution to follow through on when I keep buying more books. I really do have a problem. At this rate our next house will need a library! Ooooh a library would be awesome! Must tell stud.

Operation Recipe Cull

Not only do I have a cookbook fetish, I am also slightly addicted (ok slightly might be an understatement – I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and cant wait until the beginning of the month when I can get more MoRe MORE!!!) to recipe magazines. I had taken over majority of our old bookcase with magazine holders galore and needless to say Stud was getting a little over it. Commence “Operation Recipe Cull” (ORC)!! ORC began about a year ago and entails me going through every magazine I own, slicing out the ones I will actually use (or just look really tasty) and putting them all in A4 binders. I have grouped all of them by type (entree, veggie, pasta/pizza, beef, chicken, you get my drift) and have reduced my obsession to only 4 folders.
