If you weren’t looking for it, you would walk right past it. Stitch Bar is located on York Street just past the corner of Barrack Street and is recognisable only by the old fashioned sewing machine propping the door open. As you walk in, you’re not 100% sure you are in the right place. It kind of looks like the simple foyer to an alteration joint. But that’s the point! The “foyer” section is decked out with old school sewing machines and lots of thread. When you head downstairs it’s like stepping in to a funky Melbourne bar and we are instantly happy that such places are in Sydney. We had booked ahead and were really glad we did.
