Infused misty oils

With the new year under way and my 2013 to-do-list out there for the universe to see, I’m having to make a few changes in the kitchen to make sure it all goes according to plan, and as smoothly as possible. One of those changes being how much fat I add to my daily consumption.

Thanks to my peeps over at Kitchenware Direct, who sent me some Prepara Tabletop Oil Misters to try out and I thought I would do some flavours to jazz it up a little.

If you guys remember my Roasted Garlic Olive Oil post a while back, it’s pretty easy so I just had to decide on what flavours to do.

Keeping with the theme of the colour of the bottle, I went with White Shitaki Mushroom, Red Chilli and Green Kaffir Lime Leaf.

The pump itself is actually pretty simple to use, just make sure you don’t fill it up too much as it won’t pump then. Lesson learned ;) You just pump it around 7 times and then you have wonderfully misted oil!

Ingredients

Olive oil
Your choice of infuser

Method

Place olive oil in a saucepan on a low heat, add your flavour choice and simmer for around half an hour.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.

Add flavouring to the mister bottle and then poor in oil (being careful not to overfill).

Enjoy on salads, in stir fry’s, or anywhere in place of normal olive oil :)
